Depending on the resources you have available to you, generation may include solar, wind, hydro or a combination of these systems. The energy generated is either used within the home or fed back into the grid. At present certain power companies will provide a one for one rate, which means they will credit you at the same rate you are purchasing your energy for.

Grid-connected sustainable generation systems reduce or eliminate your energy costs, reduce your carbon footprint and add value to your home. The added value is usually calculated on the basis that $100 saved annually in energy costs equate to $1,500 added value to your home.
